These two new DVDs are on the Okuden or “inner teachings” of Muso Shinden Ryu Iaido. To the best of my knowledge this is the first instructional set of DVDs on the subject! Volume 1 covers the Suwari waza or “sitting techniques and Volume 2 covers the tachi waza or “standing techniques.” The full menu DVDs are approximately 60 minutes each with front and side views of each kata performed at regular and slow speeds. There is also a series of 10 2-disc sets, the “1000 kata” of Okuden, being shot to expand and supplement this very important level of MSR. Each of the 2 disc sets run approximately 2 hours each for a total of 22 hours of instruction! There are numerous variations of each kata along with the root version from the Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu.
